Call for Mentors

CAFE is launching a new mentorship program in Fall 2026 and is seeking mentors to support a cohort of early-career researchers.

This program will help mentees develop NIH (or similarly-structured) grant applications, for refining research ideas, crafting specific aims, and navigating the grant writing process.

We are looking for mentors who have successfully obtained NIH or similar funding and are interested in supporting researchers working at the intersection of extreme weather and health. This is not a traditional one-on-one mentorship; instead, mentors will join three to four virtual sessions over the course of the program.

Each session will feature:

• A guest speaker who will provide training on a grant-writing topic
• Breakout discussions where you’ll meet with your assigned mentees, answer questions, and provide feedback on their grant development progress.

The program will run from September 2026 through February 2027.
